Active Data Online WizardForm is an ASP.NET user control that creates wizard style forms. From an XML definition file containing data and workflow requirements, WizardForm will automatically generate a HTML form, accept user input and save the data in XML documents on the web server. WizardForm enables the functional and aesthetic elements of an ASP.NET presentation layer to be separated. The control can be used with an XML data server to build a complete business system based around XML data, or it can be used within an RDBMS application, serving as a modular, intuitive user input interface and a server-side data cache. WizardForm is designed to integrate easily into almost any ASP.NET based application. Form sections, fields and process are defined in XML; user and document sessions are handled using ASP.NET sessions; and a public event (fired when a user completes all sections of a form and submits the document) is exposed to the parent .aspx page. The product includes a Windows Forms application, called WizardForm_Builder, that simplifies the creation and editing of XML form definition files, and an asp.net, ad-hoc, query-by-example tool, called WizardForm_Query, that presents the content of documents in a HTML table. WizardForm is written in C# and compiled using Microsoft .NET v1.1.4322. The control is managed code and therefore it should work with ASP.NET applications written in any language supported by the .NET CLR.
